About This Course

Welcome to the UP Centre for Pediatric Emergencies and Specialized Care Learning Management System (LMS)! This LMS makes all previously recorded Smarten UP Pediatric Emergency Rounds available to you.

How to use this LMS

Content in this plateform will be uploaded on a weekly basis. You view and access rounds using the yearly acedemic schedule by clicking the "Schedule" tab. Alternatively, we have organized all topics by sections (see the "Injury-related Topics" and "Other Topics" tabs.

Camille Legoux, MD.CM., MMSc MEd.

Dre Legoux is a pediatric emergency physician who has joined UP in 2019. After completing a Master's in Medical Education, she took the role of Medical Education Coordinator at UP Centre for Pediatric Emergencies and Specialized Care in 2022. You can message her anytime via the Teams app for any questions, ideas or concerns you may have regarding continuying medical eduction (CME).

Are the activites on the LMS accredited?

Yes, the Smarten UP Pediatric Emergency Rounds is a self-approved group learning activity (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

Do I need to track my participation to the synchronous Smarten UP Pediatric Emergency Rounds sessions and the content I view on this LMS?

No. Everything is automated and you will be provided an education certificate with all your activities done with UP in December of each year (including Smarten UP Pediatric Emergency Rounds, presentations you have given, simulation, BLS course, PALS course, and Casted @ UP course). You will then be able to input these into the appropriate website (OIIQ, Royal College, CMQ, PADP, etc.)
